This coming Sunday is the second Sunday in May, so it is Mother’s Day.
But in fact, the dates of Mother’s Day are not all the same in every country.
Like In Norway, they celebrate it on the second Sunday in February, and in Argentina, they celebrate it on the second Sunday in October.

As for the origin of it, although Mother’s day in modern time is from America, it actually has different version as well.
The traditional origin of it is from the ancient Greek. The ancient Greeks saluted to the Mother of the Gods every year on January 8th back then.
And in China, there was another legend. It is said that thousands years ago, a mother and her son were very poor, so the mother did everything she can to support her son to study and hoped he can be an official one day. But sadly, her son died on the way to the capital city. The mother didn’t know the truth, so she waited and waited for decades, and finally died becoming a figure in stone. The villages were touched. They built a tower and museum to honor the great love of every mother.

Mother’s love is so great and selfless. On Mother’s Day, many people will give gifts or beautiful carnation to their mothers to show their respect and love.
